Everything You Need - ANDREW NOLAN

By the end of 2023, Andrew had celebrated great success with three Top 10 hits on the LGBTQ music charts but decided it was time for a break.

Although he transitioned from DWP Records and songwriter David Wilks to Crazy Dog Records, Andrew still wanted David Wilks involved in his debut album, as he had provided Andrew with his first two singles.

After some logistical challenges and delays, the track was finally set for release in September 2024. The video and mixes were inspired by Michaela Strachan’s 'Take Good Care of My Heart'. Andrew loved the vocal synth sound in the demo and insisted it remain in the final mix, as it reminded him of Michaela’s track.

The fairground scenes were then added to the simple electronic disco video.

Heartache and Lonely - ANDREW NOLAN Ft. Jazzi P

Andrew was offered the track with a much shorter rap originally, but he immediately felt it needed rapper Jazzi P. He tracked her down in her hometown of Wolverhampton. Back in 1991, Jazzi P made her mark with a Top 10 hit, "Shocked", alongside Kylie Minogue, but fans had to wait 32 years for this long-awaited follow-up. Andrew took the reins on the ideas for production, requesting a Kylie-esque remix from Sakgra, inspired by 'What Do I Have to Do'.

Although vocals were recorded together the video was made in two parts featuring artwork dedicated to  Jazzi P, the container port shots were inspired by the RSVP video by Jason Donovan.

Kites - ANDREW NOLAN

Kites is a cover of the psychedelic pop hit by Simon Dupree and the Big Sound. Though Andrew decided not to release it, feeling it would be a better fit for a future album of 50s and 60s covers, cover art and a lyric video were created in anticipation.

The song holds a special place in Andrew's heart, having first fallen in love with it after hearing it on the British police drama Heartbeat.

The production by Dave Buswell  features Erasure-esque synths and the original Mandarin language part was translated and is spoken in German by Andrew.

VITAL SIGNS -  ANDREW NOLAN

Vital Signs' is co-written by renowned international songwriter Gordon Pogoda, known for crafting hits featured in iconic films and TV shows like Hannah Montana, CSI: Miami, Will & Grace, Sex and the City, ER, Bridesmaids, and Little Miss Sunshine. He's also written for UK acts like Steps, Sonia, Tight Fit, and Nicki French. After hearing Andrew's music, Gordon knew he had the perfect song, and Andrew was truly honored to receive such a pop gem.

The music is written and produced by Sakis Gravvanis (Sakgra), who previously remixed Andrew’s singles 'When I’m With You' and 'Every Dream Has Broken'. Backing vocals come from none other than Crazy Dog’s own Dave ‘Buzz’ Buswell.

The lyric video was the first production by Andrew Nolan Music Productions.

Love Fire - ANDREW NOLAN

The high-energy pop anthem 'Love Fire', originally released by Jigsaw in 1976 and written by Des Dyer and Clive Scott, followed their UK and Billboard Top 10 hit 'Skyhigh'. It reached the U.S. Billboard Top 30. Dyer and Scott have penned hits for artists like Boyzone, Nicki French, and Saint Etienne, with Des also working with Stock and Aitken.

A longtime favorite of Andrew's, this reworked version was produced by Dave 'Buzz' Buswell, adding fresh piano elements. The video, created with green-screen tech, features Andrew dancing amidst fire and rising ember hearts.

The single was released as a double release with 'Vital Signs'

If You're Right - ANDREW NOLAN

The second track on the double AA side single with I Need Your Love is ‘If You're Right’, this wonderful song was originally recorded by Barbara Dickson as the follow up to the massive number one ‘I Know Him So Well’.

The song has also been recorded previously by Lulu, Alan Garrity and the fabulous Cheryl Baker.

A beautifully crafted lyric video was produced to accompany the track.

Produced and mixed by David ‘Buzz’ Buswell, both tracks were released on the Crazy Dog Record label.

Every Dream Has Broken - ANDREW NOLAN

Every Dream Has Broken  was originally recorded by former UK Eurovision Winners Bucks Fizz but never released by them as a single.

The Buzz Radio Mix is produced by David 'Buzz' Buswell, David is the co-writer of the Heritage Chart number one single ‘Fallout’ by 80s ‘Lion Sleeps Tonight’ icons Tight Fit.

The video features Andrew appearing on both a small screen TV and in a cinema, with press reports highlighting news articles from Bucks Fizz, Stock Aitken and Waterman (PWL), along with Andrew’s own press coverage.

Alongside the Buzz Radio Mix, the track received a remix by Sakgra, who has worked with artists like Kylie Minogue, Years & Years, Sonia, and Steps.

Everyone Wins - ANDREW NOLAN

Andrew's second single with DWP Records / Odessa Mama Records, 'Everyone Wins', brings a more soulful and laid-back vibe compared to his previous release, 'When I'm With You'. The track has a subtle New York street soul influence, reminiscent of the slower, groove-driven sound pioneered by Stock Aitken Waterman on tracks like 'Roadblock' and Sybil's 'Beyond Your Wildest Dreams'.

The video shows Andrew seated by a campfire, evoking the vibe of Jason Donovan's 'Sealed With A Kiss', with scenes interspersed with beachside campfire moments.

When I'm With You - ANDREW NOLAN

'When I'm With You' marked Andrew's debut single with DWP Records / Odessa Mama and his return to recording after many years away. A totally original song written by David Wilks.

This high-energy, retro 80s-inspired track was originally released during the Covid-19 pandemic, but its infectious sound was always meant for the dance floor. Later, Sakgra gave it an uplifting retro remix for a second release. The video was entirely homemade, with Andrew playfully admitting it was filmed "behind the fridge"—the only space available at the time!

I Started A Joke - Rehearsal Footage

In preparation for a series of live events, Andrew began rehearsing a selection of 1950s and 60s songs that he felt would challenge and showcase his vocal range. One of the tracks, 'I Started A Joke', originally recorded by the Bee Gees, is a longtime favourite of Andrew’s.

While not officially released, Andrew agreed to share the rehearsal footage with his audience.
